The Sniper Monkey: Global Reach, Single-Target Dominance
The Sniper Monkey is the only tower that ignores track length, firing from anywhere on the map with zero projectile travel time. This global range makes it the premier "utility" tower, capable of supporting your defense without occupying prime real estate.
Targeting Priorities: The Strategic "Strong" vs. "First"
The most common mistake is leaving the Sniper on "First." For most early-to-mid-game scenarios, set your Sniper to Strong. This forces it to prioritize the most dangerous target on the screen (usually a MOAB or lead bloon), while your faster, low-damage towers (like the Dart Monkey) handle the cleanup. If you are using a mid-path Elite Sniper, switching to "First" only makes sense when you have high-volume wave pressure.
Why Placement Doesn't Matter (And Why It Does)
Because the Sniper ignores track geometry, placement is irrelevant for its range. However, it is highly relevant for line-of-sight. Avoid placing it behind large obstacles if your version of the game has line-of-sight blockers. The Sniper is your "set and forget" tower—place it in an empty corner and let it provide the support you need while your Banana Farm infrastructure funds your more expensive, track-dependent defenses.
Strategic Synergies
- Economic Integration: The Supply Drop and Elite Sniper mid-paths provide a crucial income boost that synergizes with Banana Farm scaling.
- Debuff Powerhouse: Use the Cripple MOAB top path to apply a massive damage-taken multiplier to high-HP threats, significantly increasing the efficiency of your Super Monkey or Dartling Gunner units.
- Control Integration: Maim MOAB serves as a long-range stall solution, effectively complementing the short-range control provided by the Glue Gunner or Ice Monkey near track corners.
- Buff Infrastructure: While the Sniper Monkey is global, it still benefits from Monkey Village (Jungle Drums) for attack speed buffs, especially when using the Elite Defender path.
